Connect LBBW without learning EBICS.

EBICS 2.4, 2.5 and 3.0 on Host ID EBICS, a 16:30 cut-off for SEPA credit transfers, and the older formats withdrawn in November 2026. We already send LBBW pain.001.001.09 and handle the statements and every protocol step underneath.

In Baden-Württemberg, LBBW serves private clients, wealth management and mid-sized corporates under the BW-Bank brand; outside the state it serves corporates as LBBW. BW-Bank is a dependent institution of LBBW and trades on the same bank code and BIC. Rheinland-Pfalz Bank branches use the same bank code. Berlin Hyp, an LBBW brand since 1 August 2025, has its own BIC, SOLADESTHYP.

A wrong Host ID at this address returns EBICS return code 091011, EBICS_INVALID_HOST_ID, so a typo surfaces as an EBICS error rather than a network fault. The bank hands over the address, Host ID and permitted versions with the contract.

Payee verification applies from 5 October 2025 to SEPA credit transfers and instant transfers. A file with a single transfer is always checked; for a file with several, the business customer decides. LBBW reports the result, and the file executes only once the customer releases it. On a mismatch in a bulk file the whole file is released or rejected; changing one payee name means recalling the whole file. LBBW publishes no complete order-type list and no EBICS 3.0 BTF list.

LBBW books SEPA bulk orders as one entry by default. Single entries need a separate agreement and are priced per account.

Questions

What is LBBW's EBICS Host ID and URL?
Host ID EBICS, address https://ebics.lbbw-business.de. The bank hands both over with the contract. Your Kunden-ID and the User-ID of each participant are what identify you.
Which EBICS versions does LBBW support?
EBICS 2.4 (protocol H003, revision 02.40), EBICS 2.5 (H004, 02.50) and EBICS 3.0 (H005, 03.00). BankConnector connects over EBICS 3.0 (H005).
What is LBBW's payment cut-off time?
16:30 for SEPA credit transfers, 16:00 for euro urgent transfers and foreign transfers in euro, 11:30 for foreign currency transfers from a euro account and 14:00 from a currency account. SEPA instant transfers run 365 days a year, around the clock. The times apply to fully authorised files and can run up to 30 minutes later.
Does LBBW support Verification of Payee?
Yes, from 5 October 2025, on SEPA credit transfers and SEPA instant transfers. A file with a single transfer is always checked; for a file with several, the business customer decides. The file executes only once the customer releases it after the result. In LBBW's ZV-App the order types with payee check, CTV and CIV, are preselected.
What does EBICS cost at LBBW?
EUR 20.00 a month per Kunden-ID; Teilnehmer-IDs cost nothing, and each additional Alias-ID costs EUR 20.00 a month. Statements in MT940, MT942, camt.052 or camt.053 cost EUR 10.00 a month per account, and camt.054 EUR 15.00. Figures from the price and services list, 1 June 2026 edition.
What changes at LBBW in November 2026?
SEPA format versions 3.0 to 3.6 are withdrawn, so pain.001.001.03 becomes pain.001.001.09. DTAZV ends and foreign payments move to pain.001.001.09 under AXZ; euro urgent transfers move to pain.001.001.09 under CCU, both in GBIC_4 and higher. Payments with unstructured addresses are rejected. The bank names the month and not a day.
Can I connect my ERP to LBBW?
BankConnector produces the pain.001.001.09 credit transfer file LBBW requires and reads camt and pain.002 back into one normalised format. SEPA credit transfers, SEPA instant, domestic account transfers and international payments are covered. Direct debits are not.

Dates the bank has announced. What we do about each one is ours.

Upcoming events in our register

  1. SEPA format versions 3.0 to 3.6 are withdrawn: pain.001.001.03 becomes pain.001.001.09, pain.008.001.02 becomes pain.008.001.08, pain.002.001.03 becomes pain.002.001.10. Our engine already sends LBBW pain.001.001.09.

  2. DTAZV ends. Foreign payments move to pain.001.001.09 under AXZ, in GBIC_4 and higher. We have never produced DTAZV.

  3. Euro urgent transfers move to pain.001.001.09 under CCU, in GBIC_4 and higher.

  4. Payments with unstructured addresses are rejected: structured or hybrid only, with town and country mandatory and at most two address lines. Domestic, SEPA and EEA SEPA payments need no address. Canonical input 1.1 has taken street, building number, post code, town and country as separate fields since it shipped.

If all of this looks like a lot, it does not have to be

Five steps to a live LBBW connection.

You do not need to know what any of the codes above mean. Our setup guide walks you through it one screen at a time.

  1. 1

    Request the agreement from LBBW

EBICS starts with paperwork. We draft the email, you send it, and you tell us when it has gone. There is nothing to configure until the bank replies.

  2. 2

Set up and send your keys

Enter the values from the agreement LBBW returns. We already hold the ones that are public, so most of the form is filled in. Then one press generates your three key pairs and sends the public halves.

  3. 3

    Prove your identity on paper

EBICS confirms the key exchange on paper, by design. We print the initialisation letter carrying the fingerprints LBBW will check. You sign it by hand and simply email the bank a scan; the original goes by post only if the bank asks for it.

  4. 4

    Verify LBBW and go live

While you wait, we fetch the bank's public keys and check them against the fingerprints it gives you over a separate channel. When that lands, you choose which approval policy governs payments here, and the connection switches on.

  5. 5

Go live with one small payment

Start with one small payment and follow it all the way to your statement. Then you are in production with LBBW: payments go out as pain.001, statements come back as camt, and the connection runs unattended from here.
