Named for the distributed signature and the customer protocol:

HVEHVSPTK

Payee verification has applied to SEPA credit transfers and SEPA instant since 9 October 2025. Opting out is open to business customers only; consumers have no opt-out.

An opt-in file always needs the distributed signature. Bank-business signatures present at submission are discarded, and the file reaches the VEU only once the VPZ report is final. The whole file is then authorised with HVE or cancelled with HVS — never in part. The report carries RCVC for a match, RVMC for a close match, RVNM for no match and RVNA for no response or not applicable.

Questions

What is Commerzbank's EBICS Host ID and URL?
Host ID CBKEBIX1, address https://ebicsveu.commerzbank.com/ebicsweb/ebicsweb, port 443. Commerzbank publishes the hash values of its bank keys on commerzbank.de, in separate sets for EBICS 2.5 keys, EBICS 3.0 keys and EBICS 3.0 certificates.
Which EBICS versions does Commerzbank support?
The host answers EBICS 2.5 (H004) and 3.0 (H005). Commerzbank has not published an end date for EBICS 2.5.
What are Commerzbank's cut-off times for EBICS payments?
SEPA credit transfers with an electronic signature by 17:00 on the bank's business days, urgent euro transfers (CCU) by 15:45, and foreign payments with currency conversion by 18:00. SEPA instant runs 24/7 with no cut-off. Direct debits are due by 13:00 one TARGET2 day before the due date.
When does Commerzbank stop accepting pain.001.001.03?
Commerzbank names 13 November 2026 as the end of the lifecycle for SEPA format versions below 3.7, which include pain.001.001.03. It states it will keep accepting those files for a limited period beyond, adjusting or deleting the address data they contain, which can cause queries, delays or rejected payments. Versions 2.9 and older have not been accepted since March 2026. DTAZV and urgent transfers in pain.001.001.03 end in November 2026.
Does Commerzbank support Verification of Payee over EBICS?
Yes, since 9 October 2025, for SEPA credit transfers and SEPA instant. CTV and CIV opt in, CCT and CIP opt out; opting out is open to business customers only. An opt-in file needs the distributed signature: signatures present at submission are discarded, the file enters the VEU once the VPZ report is final, and it is authorised or cancelled as a whole.
Does Commerzbank still support MT940?
Yes. Commerzbank's format overview of August 2026 lists MT940 and MT942 as supported until November 2027, and camt.053 and camt.052 in versions 02 and 08 with no end date.
Can I connect my ERP to Commerzbank?
Yes. You send canonical JSON and BankConnector produces the pain.001.001.03 credit transfer file, then reads camt.053, camt.052, camt.054 and pain.002 back into one normalised format. SEPA credit transfers, SEPA instant, domestic account transfers and international payments are supported. Direct debits are not.

Upcoming events in our register

  1. SEPA format versions below 3.7 reach the end of their lifecycle, pain.001.001.03 among them, and DTAZV and urgent transfers in pain.001.001.03 end. Commerzbank keeps accepting such files for a limited period, adjusting or deleting their address data.

  2. MT940 and MT942 statements are no longer provided. camt.053 and camt.052 continue.

If all of this looks like a lot  ·  it does not have to be

Five steps to a live Commerzbank connection.

You do not need to know what any of the codes above mean. Our setup guide walks you through it one screen at a time.

  1. 1

    Request the agreement from Commerzbank

EBICS starts with paperwork. We draft the email, you send it, and you tell us when it has gone. There is nothing to configure until the bank replies.

  2. 2

Set up and send your keys

Enter the values from the agreement Commerzbank returns. We already hold the ones that are public, so most of the form is filled in. Then one press generates your three key pairs and sends the public halves.

  3. 3

    Prove your identity on paper

EBICS confirms the key exchange on paper, by design. We print the initialisation letter carrying the fingerprints Commerzbank will check. You sign it by hand and send it.

  4. 4

    Verify Commerzbank and go live

While you wait, we fetch the bank's public keys and check them against the fingerprints it gives you over a separate channel. When that lands, you choose which approval policy governs payments here, and the connection switches on.

  5. 5

You are now in production with Commerzbank

Payments go out as pain.001 and statements come back as camt. The connection runs unattended from here.
