- What is Berner Kantonalbank's EBICS Host ID and URL?
- Host ID BEKBEBICS, address https://ebics.bekb.ch/EBICS-Server/EBICS.aspx, protocol version H005 (EBICS 3.0), with X002 for authentication and E002 for encryption. BEKB publishes these on its EBICS parameter sheet, in German and French.
- Which EBICS versions does BEKB support?
- The parameter sheet lists H005, EBICS 3.0. From 14 November 2026 uploads over EBICS 2.4 or 2.5 are no longer possible, and pain.001.001.09 is supported over EBICS 3.0 only. BEKB states the move to 3.0 is done with your software partner, and that active EBICS subscriber keys stay valid without re-initialisation.
- Where are BEKB's bank key hashes published?
- On the EBICS parameter sheet, for the authentication key X002 and the encryption key E002 — both as hashes of the public keys and as hashes of the certificates. Bank keys are fetched with HPB after BEKB releases the EBICS contract.
- How are payments sent over EBICS approved at BEKB?
- By default in BEKB e-banking, which needs an additional e-banking access; BEKB recommends this extra approval. On express request you can do without it and approve payments in your accounting software only. BEKB does not publish a distributed electronic signature (VEU) offer.
- Which order types does BEKB publish for EBICS 3.0?
- Uploads: pain.001 versions 03 and 09 under MCT, scope CH, no container. Downloads, scope CH: pain.002 versions 03 and 10 under PSR; camt.052, camt.053 and camt.054 versions 04 and 08 under STM, EOP and REP; MT942 under STM and MT940 under EOP; PDF documents under DAR. All downloads except MT942 and MT940 come in a ZIP.
- What are BEKB's cut-off times for EBICS payments?
- BEKB does not publish an EBICS cut-off. Its payment terms state that cut-off times are made known to the customer in a suitable form, and that an order received after the cut-off is as a rule executed on the next bank business day.
- When does BEKB stop accepting pain.001.001.03 and unstructured addresses?
- From 14 November 2026 BEKB no longer processes pain.001 V3 files: pain.001 V9 is the only format for domestic and foreign payments, and only structured addresses are allowed. QR-bills have had to carry structured addresses since 22 November 2025.
- Can I connect my ERP to Berner Kantonalbank?
- Yes. You send canonical JSON and BankConnector produces pain.001.001.09 to the Swiss Payment Standards ch.03 schema, then reads camt and pain.002 back into one normalised format. SEPA credit transfers, Swiss domestic transfers, QR-bill payments and international payments are supported. Direct debits are not.

Request the agreement from BEKB
EBICS starts with paperwork. We draft the email, you send it, and you tell us when it has gone. There is nothing to configure until the bank replies.

Set up and send your keys
Enter the values from the agreement BEKB returns. We already hold the ones that are public, so most of the form is filled in. Then one press generates your three key pairs and sends the public halves.

Prove your identity on paper
EBICS confirms the key exchange on paper, by design. We print the initialisation letter carrying the fingerprints BEKB will check. You sign it by hand and send it.

Verify BEKB and go live
While you wait, we fetch the bank's public keys and check them against the fingerprints it gives you over a separate channel. When that lands, you choose which approval policy governs payments here, and the connection switches on.

Payments go out as pain.001 and statements come back as camt. The connection runs unattended from here.
